2024 Capitol Summit

In the month of May, President/CEO of the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce (CVCC) Zeb Welborn, Community Engagement Director of CVCC, Julia Cabrera, and business members of the community traveled to Sacramento for the annual Capitol Summit hosted by the California Chamber of Commerce. 

Received by Zeb Welborn and Julia Cabrera on behalf of the Chino Valley Chamber, the CVCC team was awarded the Advocacy Champion Award by the California Chamber of Commerce. The CVCC team was recognized for their legislative efforts in regards to advocating for bills that support economic development and regional growth.

In addition to receiving the award the team took time to meet with various legislators’ offices such as, the Office of Senator Kelly Seyarto, the Office of Assemblymember Freddie Rodriguez, the Office of Senator Josh Newman, and the Office of Senator Susan Rubio to discuss legislative issues relevant to the business community.

The California Chamber Capitol Summit included roundtable discussions with subject matter experts on the state of California’s economy, retail theft, empowering small Businesses, and changes in coverage of California politics and issues (Read more here.) The second day of the summit was a breakfast that began with opening remarks from CalChamber Chair Janet Liang, Executive VP, group president and chief operating officer, care delivery, for Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc. and Hospitals.
