Wrapping Up the 2018/2019 Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce Year
It’s been a while since I’ve been able to put together a President’s Report. We’ve tackled so much since May including the State of the City for Chino, the Southern California Charity Golf Classic and our Chino Valley Business Awards & Recognition Dinner.
Not to mention, we closed out the 2018/2019 fiscal year, my first year in charge of the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce.
Learn about our recent events, how we progressed on the goals we set at the beginning of the year and our plans and goals for the new year.

Evaluating How We Did in 2018/2019
In January, I shared the goals we had created last July in my President’s Report titled – Goals for the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce in 2019
The goals we sought to achieve were:
- Gain 7 net members per month
- Increase large business participation via our Chairman’s Circle program
- Increase event participation by 20%
- Create a new event/opportunity for our members
- Get feedback from our members on membership and events
Because of the goals we set at the beginning of the year, we have more members than we’ve ever had at 404 members
- Gain 7 net new members each month for a total of 84 – 44
- Increase large business participation via our Chairman’s Circle program – added Ontario International Airport, Foddrill Construction, KB Real Estate, Apollo Insurance Services, TownePlace Suites by Marriott Chino Hills, Chino Commercial Bank and Good Enough Travel
- Increase event participation over 2017/2018 – 28%
- Create a new event/opportunity for our members – added the Southern California Charity Golf Classic, Chamber Directory, Profile Display, selling of Chino/Chino Hills logo Angels hats and participated in the Chino Corporate Challenge
- Conduct a feedback survey from members and from event attendees – we tried our best to survey all members via email, phone and on-site throughout the year and collected lots of data about how we can better support Chino Valley businesses
Membership:
January 2, 2014 to Today
July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019
As you can see the amount of businesses getting involved in our Chamber is growing!
The Year in Review:
Thank you for being a part of the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce and helping us get stronger. It’s because of our members, staff, Board of Directors, Ambassadors, and community that we’ve been able to grow so substantially this year.
It’s important for a business organization to give back to the community we serve. I’m thrilled to say that this year we also raised $13,439.83 for local non-profits through our Southern California Charity Golf Classic.
Goals for 2019/2020:
We are excited that Vice Mayor of Chino Hills, Art Bennett has agreed to become our Chairman of the Board for the 2019/2020 year. Art wants to see us grow this year and we’ve laid out a list of goals for the new year to continue this upward trend that we are on:
- Increase Membership by 20%
- Get 20% of our Members to Use Member to Member Discounts
- Compile a List of Resources for Employers to Connect Them with Employment Resources
- Create a More Active Presence in the Community by Attending/Establishing a Presence at Community and Local Business Events
- Create Ways to Get Students/Education Connected with the Chamber
