Chino Valley Chamber Gives $1,900 to Chaffey College Journalism Students
Clark Canedy, owner of Management Strategic Ideas, Inc., in collaboration with the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce donated $1,900 to Chaffey College journalism students.
Clark is a new member of the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce who attended a recent Business @ Breakfast event where we asked for businesses to donate items for our weekly opportunity drawing. Clark donated four Discovery flights out of Chino Airport donated by DuBois Aviation to members of the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce.
He was then inspired to use this as an opportunity to connect the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce with the Chaffey College Journalism Program. He connected with Professor Michelle Dowd about the possibility to offer scholarships to these students who “covered” the flights.
Students attended the flight and documented the Chino Valley Chamber members experiences and then created multimedia packages to record the experience.
Every student in Professor Dowd’s Journalism class received some form of scholarship for a total of $1,900 donated by Clark Canedy.
Clark presented the awards on Wednesday, January 22 on behalf of the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce with Sandy Graham from West Coast Magazine and Robert Ceja with Robert’s Bariatric Services.
