Career Expo and Job Fair Helps to Fill Hiring Needs!

The Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Project Unity hosted a Career Expo and Job Fair on January 14, 2022, at the Chino Hills Community Center. The event was a great success as it attracted over 260 career explorers and job seekers.

Participants had the opportunity to meet with the 30 businesses in attendance including the City of Chino Police Department, the City of Chino Hills, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Inland Empire Utilities Agency, Omnitrans, to name a few.

Chino Valley Chamber President, Zeb Welborn shared, “It was a privilege to host this Career Expo and Job Fair and to facilitate student exposure to different careers and employment opportunities in our local community.”

“I was very happy with the outcome of the Career Expo and Job Fair. I thought that students really enjoyed their experience, and felt benefitted by the opportunities available to them. It was truly amazing to see the event establish connections and act as a stepping stone for all those involved—businesses, students, and job seekers alike,” said Project Unity Founder Sadie Lee.

During the Career Expo and Job Fair, on-the-spot job interviews took place, and ten of the participating businesses sat on a panel sharing insight into their career.

Elkan Wong said, “[I enjoyed] meeting with employers and finding out what jobs are available and how I could apply.”

Participating business, School Portraits by Adams Photography, explained, “[We liked the] ability to create awareness of our company in the local community.”

The student participants from the Chino Valley Chamber Student Pitch Competition in November 2021 were in attendance at the Career Expo. The finalists received their awards on stage.
